Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on the
26th of August, 2002) who is professionally referred to as Lil Tecca, is an
American artist and rapper. The success of "Ransom," his 2019 single,
has helped him become a major star. This single was part of his first mixtape
"We Love You Tecca" (2019), which reached fourth place on the US
Billboard 200. The mixtape also contained the singles "Love Me" and
"Did It Again". The album he released as his debut studio album
called"Virgo" (2020) it debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. It
also featured the Billboard Hot 100-charting singles "Dolly" and
"When You Down". His second mixtape "We Love You Tecca 2"
was released in August 2021. It featured "Repeat It", and "Lot of
Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born August 26, 2002 in the Queens
neighborhood of New York City to Jamaican immigrants. He was born in Queens in
Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe eventually moved to Cedarhurst in Long
Island. Sharpe was a child who had plans to be an athlete in basketball, but
his attention shifted to music at age 12. Sharpe completed his studies at
Lawrence High School. Tecca at the age of nine at the time, was rapping with
his peers using his Xbox to record. One of their diss tracks was uploaded to
SoundCloud several years ago, however it has since been deleted. At beginning,
he didn't have plans to begin music and instead had dreams of being an NBA
star. As he entered middle school however, he began to lose interest in
basketball and took music seriously. His first track to gain some recognition,
"Tectri", was recorded in collaboration with his friend, Lil
Gummybear, and came out in early 2017. His other tracks include
"Callin" and "Tectri". The following year the career of
Tecca began to take off with the hit single "Ransom" The track was
first uploaded to Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd,
2019. The song peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been
able to get over 900 million plays on Spotify and over 300 million views on
YouTube.
